Santa Cruz County has an incredibly biodiverse natural environment, with redwoods, wetlands, kelp forests, and more! As a hotspot for tourism and outdoor activities, to maintain a balanced ecosystem we have to ensure the health and safety of our wild places. These non-profits are dedicated to conservation just like The Nature Lodge.


The sea otter is a marine mammal native to the coasts of the northern and eastern North Pacific Ocean. Adult sea otters typically weigh between 14 and 45 kg, making them the heaviest members of the weasel family, but among the smallest marine mammals.

Watsonville Wetlands Watch

Watsonville Wetlands Watch is dedicated to the protection, restoration, and fostering of appreciation of the wetlands of the Pajaro Valley, especially involving members of the Watsonville community and the students of the Pajaro Valley Unified School District. www.watsonvillewetlandswatch.org
