Kids for Conservation

Sustainable Land Management Program

Small but Mighty!

Meet our little herd of superhero goats! These

boys were all adopted because they needed a new home for various reasons. Today, they live their best lives eating weeds and brush, reducing wildfire fuel in Santa Cruz County.

The Snuggliest Boy

Blue - Great Pyrenees Pup

Blue is the Kids for Conservation livestock guardian dog. He is still under a year old and is in training to become the best protector of his little goat friends. As a Great Pyrenees, he is instinctual in his guardianship and takes his job very seriously.  Some of his favorite things to do is chew on bones, bark at annoying ravens, and take naps on his back. He lives with the herd full time and is treated like the team captain and the goats look to him, to feel safe.

Celebrity Twin: Andre The Giant

Fun Fact: Blue loves people and tries his best to be friends with the barn cats every moment of every day.
